In the 21st century, many children have access to advanced learning. Despite living in such an advanced technological world, life in the Tribal belt is decades behind. Children live without balanced meals, clothes, shelter, or education.
The government of India passed several Bills to enable and educate them, but the money seldom reaches them.
Vision India started SHEMA PUBLIC SCHOOL in the tribal belt of western Odisha. SHEMA is a national level program under a unit of Vision India which focuses on the basic education for underprivileged children and youth. SHEMA works specifically with those children who are living in extremely difficult circumstances such as child labor, the poorest of households, with young mothers, single parent homes or are orphans.

OTHER PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH
Remote Village Education
Many of the children we serve live in remote villages, some as far as six miles from our Tribal Center, where our school is based. Due to the lack of accessible educational facilities in these areas and the absence of government schools, these children are unable to attend a traditional school setting. To bridge this gap, we have a team of 11 dedicated and passionate teachers who travel to 11 different locations, bringing education directly to these children. Their commitment ensures that every child, regardless of their location, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a brighter future.
Children's Program
During the months of April and May school children are on summer vacation. Vision India has created an unique spiritual and character building program for children. They are encouraged to be confident in their identity as a Tribal member of society. Both their physical and emotional needs are met during this 4 day camp.
Seekers Camp
Seeker’s Camp is designed for Youth who are lost in this world. Vision India arranges these camps to share the Love of Jesus and help young people find direction in their lives. Vision India provides each young person with the Word of God.
