During Christmas Vision India provided 400 blankets and warm clothes to widows and needy people in the Tribal areas and clothing to our Pastors’ families.
The Hindu religion holds 13 Festivals over a period of 12 months, each one in celebration of a particular god or goddess. During these Festivals, Hindus traditionally provide delicious food and clothing for the needy. In the same way, when people in India are believers, they consider Christmas as one of the festivals of their Christian culture. Seeking to be culturally relevant, Vision India gives gifts at Christmas, providing blankets for needy believers. As we share the joy of giving at Christmas, as opportunities arise for us we share the Gospel story and hope that people respond positively.
Vision India has now grown to have 13 pastors, all of whom are actively working in our region, as well as four believers working as full-time staff within Tribal schools. Our plan is to reach these Tribal regions and provide blankets for needy Tribal believers and widows along with some clothing items for our Leaders and Teachers. We are so grateful to our friends who contributed to provide clothes and blankets for our Tribal believers.
